As part of supporting newly admitted students and strengthening the role of educational guidance in preparing them for university life, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Dentistry, Al-Ameed University, organized an awareness lecture entitled “Adapting to University Life.” The lecture was delivered by the College Counselor, Mr. Ameer Raad.
In a statement to University Media, Mr. Ameer Raad explained that the aim of this guidance activity was to help first-year students integrate into the university environment and to enhance channels of communication between them and students of higher academic levels. He noted that senior students possess valuable academic experience and successful practical insights that contribute to guiding new students and facilitating their academic journey.
He added that the lecture included presentations of experiences shared by senior students, during which they discussed the most prominent challenges they faced at the beginning of their university studies and the methods that helped them overcome those challenges, along with offering practical advice to newly admitted students.
At the conclusion of the activity, a representative of the first-year students was selected to help organize student affairs and strengthen communication between students, the College Deanship, and the teaching staff, contributing to the creation of a supportive and motivating university environment conducive to success.
